Worship has more zest, heart and conviction when it is infusing ritual. Like art, rituals are likely to bear more meaning than words can say.

As the Pastor of Vine church, I see my role as Pastor including that of being a ritual genius. After all, if a Pastor is not a ritual genius, how will the people feel the blessings of God within a worship service?

Words can only begin to help us experience God. When I officiate at Holy Communion, baptisms, Confirmation, weddings, funerals and other special services, rites of passage and rituals, I am mindful to involve the senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch when possible. Ritual, once enacted, has a life of its own.
