2007—A Banner Year For Missions

At the first meeting of the year, members of the Board of Missions learned that 2007 was a very good one for mission giving. Not only did receipts fully fund the proposed budget but the year ended with a surplus. After discussion, the Board voted to give the additional funds to O.C.W.M., the Peoples City Mission, and the Matt Talbot Kitchen. It was also noted that record or near-record amounts were received for Neighbors In Need-$1,225, Tools and Blankets-$805, and the Christmas Fund-$1,462. Board members want to express their gratitude to all those who took part in this outstanding generosity. Benevolence Treasurer Pat Tindall reported that for the months of November and December, Eastridge Pantry donations were 279 total pounds and receipts of $90. She alerted the board that Vine Church would be responsible for packing boxes at the Pantry in March and April of 2008.
