Vine Foundation at Work
The Vine Foundation has granted a total of $143,123 for the years 2007 through 2017. This has been made possible by the gifts and bequests the Foundation has received from many Vine Church members and friends.
Since its inception in 1988, the Vine Foundation has been actively involved in furthering the ministry of Vine Congregational UCC Church. These include the support of a youth minister, youth mission trips and Kamp Kaleo. The Foundation has helped to fund outreach ministries of members of Vine Church, such as congregation-wide strength-based training, sending a ministry couple to teach in Lithuania, sending a group of Vine members to Pine Ridge Reservation, sending Vine youth and adult leaders to participate in International Affairs Seminars in New York City and Washington D.C., as well as state and national gatherings of the United Church of Christ.
The Vine Foundation has also helped provide money for capital improvement projects for Vine Church. Some of these projects include the sanctuary renovation, remodeling and redesign of the west entrance, flood lights for the parking lot, painting and repair projects, landscaping, tree removal, and replacing the Fellowship Hall roof.
The Vine Foundation has also fulfilled grant requests from many charitable organizations in the Lincoln/Lancaster County area including the Lincoln Firefighters’ Operation Warm project, the HUB of Lincoln, Earth Day speakers, Mourning Hope, Cedars Home for Children, Center for People in Need, People’s City Mission and Tabitha Meals on Wheels.
